Great news!  The Centretown CHC is celebrating its recent designation as a Baby-Friendly facility. The Baby-Friendly Initiative™ is a World Health Organization/UNICEF designation granted to health agencies that follow best practices defined by the baby friendly initiative.Baby-Friendly™ Initiative provides a framework for the implementation of best practice by health care facilities and practitioners, with the aim of ensuring that all patients are helped to make informed decisions about feeding their babies and that they are then supported in their chosen feeding method.Ottawa Public Health is currently working on obtaining its Baby-Friendly designation and we look forward to learning from Centretown’s experience during their journey to successful implementation of this global initiative. read more..
